Eurovia British Columbia Inc. is currently seeking a team oriented, self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our Team as a Project Coordinator. 

 

The Project Coordinator assists the Project Manager in design and construction-related activities to aid in successful job completion while meeting safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Preplan and schedule project activities on a daily to weekly basis as required.
  • Implement the project Quality Management System by acting as lead quality coordinator
  • Create a safe site and working environment by promoting safe working methods
  • Complete routine checklists during site walkthroughs
  • Assist the construction manager in day-to-day activities
  • Assist superintendents with field operations and job scheduling
  • Be a site contact for the project
  • QMP updates/revisions
  • Source supplies
  • Drawing updates and distribution

Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Good understanding of road construction and related activities
  • Solid understanding of the QMP and the testing requirements for roadway
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • OFA Level 1 or Higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • QA, QC training, proper tracking of Quantities

Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering

Applicants must have substantial experience in Road Construction with extensive knowledge in excavation, utilities installation, grading and paving aspects of the business. The candidate will also possess superior leadership skills, demonstrate solid oral and written communication skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling software.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in the Company Safety Program. The candidate will also be responsible for the administration and scheduling of day to day operations, all aspects of quality control, while working cooperatively with other Superintendents. Further, the candidate will be responsible for the financial results of the project, which includes keeping the project budget up to date.

Successful candidates will have experience on project valued at $5M or higher.

Minimum 5 years’ Experience.

Eurovia British Columbia Ltd. is hiring a Foreman - Grading / Utilities!

Eurovia BC is currently seeking a team oriented, self-motivated, and dedicated individual to join our Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland Area Operations Team as Foreman – Grading/Utilities.  

Applicants must have experience as a Foreman in Road Construction with proficient knowledge in the disciplines of Grading and/or Utilities.

The candidate will possess leadership skills, oral and written communication skills and strong day to day site organization skills.

The successful candidate will be an active leader in the Company Health & Safety Program, and will be responsible for scheduling day to day operations, all aspects of quality control, while working cooperatively with crew and Superintendents. Further, the candidate will be responsible to monitor production results, material consumption and efficiency of the projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • A strong and growing knowledge of utilities/grading construction activities and processes;

  • Have a strong and growing knowledge of specifications (MoTI, MMCD, local government specifications);

  • Ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and look up specification from MoTI / MMCD;

  • Ability to organize all field aspects needed on site to begin and complete a job;

  • General computer skills;

  • Ability to measure and calculate length, surface, volumes and quantities;

  • Ability to perform field project layout from drawings and cut sheets;

  • Ability to use a laser level, calculate elevations, layout elevations;

  • Have a working knowledge of all the equipment on site;

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills;

  • Strong communication skills with clients and the public; and

The Estimator is responsible for planning, organizing, and fully developing comprehensive conceptual and final costing estimates from the start to the completion of varied civil construction projects. This position works with the Project Procurement team in the delivery of a total bid price for heavy civil general contracts in both conventional tender and design build formats. This position may also act as the Technical Lead on Design-Build Projects, and if successful, act as Project Manager throughout project execution.

Key Tasks and Accountability

  • Reviews contractual documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work;
  • Reviews specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates;
  • Prepare accurate takeoff quantities using Autodesk QTO takeoff application;
  • Prepare estimates using B2W estimating system calculating material, labor, and equipment costs and applying to complete scope of work;
  • Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing;
  • Reviews options based on design and recommends best solution based on cost competitiveness;
  • Assist proposal manager in preparing bid package documents;
  • Negotiate and manage bid award process and execute contracts;
  • Assist in development and maintenance of estimating resource database, guidelines and resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements; and
  • Supervise and coach junior team members.

Essential Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding with applied knowledge of construction earthwork, structures, paving, underground, and grading practices on large /complex heavy civil projects.

Safety Standards

  • Strict adherence to Eurovia British Columbia's corporate safety standards and procedures.
  • Annual participation in corporate safety orientation.

Project Financial Responsibility

Project Manager on multiple small to mid-range projects with responsibilities including:

  • Implementation and management of project budgets.
  • Monitor progress and status of projects including budget updates, CPSR, invoicing and accounts payable follow up.
  • Complete contract closeout documents and process.
  • Evaluate and report on profit / loss results.  

Additional Comments on the Role / Company

The applicant should have a proven track record in both Estimating & Project Management Roles with a minimum of 5 years industry experience. The role is intended to be primarily an estimating role, however Project Management assignments are to be anticipated for complex bid build and design-build projects.

Eurovia British Columbia is currently seeking an experienced individual to join our Shop & Equipment team as an Equipment Coordinator. 

This intermediate-level role will include coordination of tasks in our shop & equipment department, but at the same time being hands-on in performing preparation request forms and order leasing for vehicles, besides spare parts purchase tasks for the shop. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in relation with the Equipment Manager, the Shop Foreman, and the Equipment Clerk to coordinate the following:
  1. VEHICLES:
  • Preparing renewal plan
  • Preparing Lease/Order requests for vehicles
  • Coordinating and keeping track of the assignment of company fuel card
  • Coordinating with external shops vehicles maintenance
  • Coordinating with Shop Foreman for inhouse resources for vehicles maintenance
  • Coordination with equipment clerk for ICBC claims
  • Invoices approval for maintenance requests
  • Operates a wide variety of vehicles
  1. SHOP
  • Responsible for the annual purchase of service parts/fluids
  • Responsible for purchase and inventory keeping of spare parts and shop supplies.
  • Implementing and following the company’s safety manual and rules
  • Completing other related duties as assigned   

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Heavy duty equipment and vehicle mechanical/electric knowledge,
  • Strong communication skills with clients and the public.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Computer skills: MS Office
  • Ability to read and interpret financial data including balance sheets
  • Legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
