156th Street Underpass

The project is a four-lane underpass of 156 Street beneath the Trans Canada Highway, involving complex detour and construction staging, design and construction of associated urban arterial roads and extensive utility coordination and relocation. Environmental approvals were necessary and improvement of Guildford Creek and its tributaries were project components. Traffic management was extensive and handled extremely high traffic volumes while ensuring the safety of all project personnel as well as the traveling public. Challenging soft soil conditions were handled while innovative design and compliance with ISO 9001:2008 Quality standards remained foremost. Unique design and staging along with the skills and efficiency of the construction team made the aggressive schedule achievable and the project cost effective for the client.
